Silos

#Lessons (1)

We need to improve ourselves constantly, if not excel overnight. This applies to different aspects of our life - being involved as playing different roles in daily routine. In process of mastering these roles - from giving ourselves (body) a jog, helping family in household morning chores, getting tasks done, setting up priorities (topics to cover, tests to attempt...) - we learn to focus on single work at a time.

In all these tasks I see breaks, I work in sessions of different roles, and have to go through transition to another role in another session. This session - transition - session thing initially is much needed - to focus on current set of tasks, - helps me to avoid distractions of thought of next thing to do.

Months pass repeating this, going lax, leaving routine altogether and putting things together again. Now it feels somewhat easy to work out these 'session - silos' one by one. That's good.

Now this is a milestone; and beyond this lies a challenge - 'to look beyond silos'.

When I take a glance at larger picture, working in silos looks like a micro level management - do morning tasks, study few topics, again tasks come up at afternoon, study few hours again .... . Works and topics feels like never ending - mind boggles sometimes. Yes we fathom these endless goals by persistence of our daily routine yet by end of day my work seem incomprehensible.

Solution, I believe, is to interlink these silos (without abandoning it altogether, as a ground rule)- interlink concepts wherever possible, make a meaning of it, take a larger picture (drone view), and I believe, we could be able to comprehend impact of our efforts to some extent. This is the part I have to work on myself at present time.

Good days ahead all.
Good night.
