Jaigarh Fort: Jaipur

The very moment I was wandering in the corridors and courtyards of Amer Palace, some faint thoughts striking me, how all this big palace would be manged to be maintained and also be protected by enemies and Invaders,.... While my mind was busy in getting deeper inside many of the random questions only to struggle with tangled thoughts I reached a point from where I can see a long boundary on a hill at higher altitude, and I thought  -  what might be behind the wall on hill, Some other day I will come again to ascend another heights...

It was 25th of June'14, we were returning to PG, the sun was over our heads, hot winds blowing swiftly made me presume as if a light breeze blowing over me and doing wonders; (Huh, ..in reality it would be great to be so, but I was just feeling wet due to my sweated shirt); at least, this false assumption gave me courage to move forward steadily. During our Lunch gathering it's been decided to visit 'Jaigarh Fort' all along. Instantly all agreed, and so do I, ....Yes that was the Fort I was watching from Amer, - how could I miss this chance. So we hurriedly had lunch got ready and moved on to 'Jaigarh'. It's been almost 2:00 afternoon and the scorching sun was still greeting us as if he gonna took some vengeance on us, this time enthusiasm was our driving force. We traveled by foot, took an auto to 'Badi Chaupadh', On the way one could always gaze at the 'Ajmeri Gate',it's an entrance to the Jaipur City (i.e. Pink City). It doesn't takes time to understand why Jaipur is known as The Pink City; beyond 'Ajmeri Gate' in the old city one can find that all the buildings, architectures, even temples and palaces too are painted in pink.

Travelling with friends always remains fun, why might they not be the new ones?

One should not always be judging their friends...........just be self cautious. Even 'Jagjit Singh' has sung :

                         "Parakhna mat; parakhne me koi apna nahi rahta;
                             Kisi Bhi aaine me der tak chehra nahi rahta."

It took us more than an hour to reach at the foothills of Amer, and we had to ascend double the altitude that of Amer. Daunting task but we proceeded further, running on the large staircases, we joked, enjoyed. Earlier in market they had eaten delicious sweet 'Rabri', and now Rajat put a challenge jokingly -that whoever be the last to reach the fort will arrange for a 'Rabri Party' for everyone. Now all we started running on the steps and ramps. Watching us run upwards a person warned us that it's been late and there will be no entry by the time we will be there. There's few minutes to strike 4 in the clock. Running, Panting, Walking,..at last I reached there first and took Tickets for all on a single students' ID availing concession for all. It's only crawling had been left which we didn't opted.

By the time we all, Suryakant Banarsi, Subham Gangveer, Subham Dabir, Rajat Shinde, Yatish Sahu and myself,; entered the fort, light rainfall started and we rushed for cover. But it felt ridiculous to not to enjoy such a delight rainy evening of summer especially enjoying the view of surrounding areas from that much altitude; In addition to that it was also like the Clouds are singing a welcome note only for our presence:

                                      Megh aae bade ban than ke sanwar ke,
                                        aage aage nachti gaati bayar chali;
                                    Darwaze Khidkiyan khulne lagi gali gali,
                                        Pahun jyon aaye gaon me seher ke.

So we respected the clouds, and mounted on a high pedestal. I kept it to myself that, it seemed to me as I am comparing myself to 'Yaksha' as if he is looking  at clouds from 'Ramgiri hills', and now I am on a hill of 'Aravali Range'. Difference was only that 'Kalidasa' portrayed him to praise the clouds and I was capturing Stills of them . Haa...ha. All were moving covering their heads by hand, I used mine to cover Camera. Wandered to and fro, rain were also playing games with us. I hid the Cam as some monkeys approached to us only to dodge and pass beside us. Looking at sign-boards we reached at the great cannon called 'Jaivana'. There was facility for vehicles to run in the fort, also the paths were so much wider, that might be so built for the passage of the king's army, cavalries and chariots easily.

Once again the rain started and this time it could't stopped to pour its love-full  desire and cried. In front of us standing the giant Cannon having wheels' dia greater than our height, made of full iron, its muzzle's dia seemed greater than 2 feet  . It's being restricted to photograph, so did the guard warned all. All of my friends drenched in rain, I also wished to do so but I didn't want the same to be dome with my electronics equipment, so I put them in Bag I was carrying and tried best to keep them dry. The monkeys started hovering over the metal roof covering cannon, and the guard remained busy in making them flee, meanwhile I took some shots sneaking the guards' vision. Scenic beauty of the nearby was delightful.

Usually the place where the soil and rocks are in their  natural form without being affected by the pollution, after rain, there rises a pleasant aroma of the soil; these odour fills a sense of patriotism, respect and love for the mother land. In this odor lies the essence of beauty of nature. Admiration grows towards culture. It might make one remember their childhood in these soils and mud, especially does with me. The odor makes you realize your background also.  In Indian culture there is a special classification of love that any parents posses for their Offspring termed as 'vatsalya prem', apart from here this love isn't found in other cultures. and in my opinion this could never happen in the cultures from where 'Sigmund Freud' belonged and had a different analogy of love (in psychological aspect) between the relatives.

The rain stopped and evening sun started shining. Now friends asked me conduct a photo shoot for them, so they could change their 'fb profile pic' and 'cover'. Taking many shots and covering all of the in singe frame also with the scenic beauty, pushed me on the verge of a cliff. I only got attention when 'Shinde' warned me, and hence I realized that one step bank would have led me fall 20- 25 feet down. I moved away and it started sweating. It fierce possibility of misadventure. It took me time to cool down, after which we moved.

The Fort was built for the monitoring and protection of 'Amer Palace' and 'Maota Lake'. It also served as a residence for king's army.

We wandered and seen lot. At last we ate some snacks and trodden back to the nest.
